Russian watchdog cuts flight svc fee 50%, Far East fee almost 100%

MOSCOW, Mar 18 (PRIME) -- Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency has cut the air navigation fee for Russian companies 50% until October 1 and has set almost zero fees for the Far Eastern Federal District, which can save airlines 4.7 billion rubles, the agency said in a statement on Wednesday.

"In order to adopt urgent measures against the negative economic effect of the spread of the coronavirus infection on the aviation industry and to support the Russian airlines, the Federal Air Transport Agency ruled the following. A reducing coefficient of 0.01 of the fee for air traffic service for the Russian users of the Russian air zone is set from March 17, 2020 on the routes with air traffic service inside the Far Eastern Federal District, the airdromes located on the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District," the authority said.

"A reducing coefficient of 0.5 of the fee… is set for the Russian users of the air zone of the Russian Federation except for the fees indicated by Item 1, from March 17, 2020 until October 1, 2020."
